Background reading, not advice

The service pages, price ranges, answers to common questions and summaries of rules on this site are general information. None of it is medical, legal or insurance advice, and none of it replaces someone looking at the property in person. No two houses or water events in Calcasieu Parish play out alike, and the right plan for yours gets settled after a visit to the property, not by reading a web page.

Who assesses and who removes

Louisiana keeps mold assessment and mold removal in separate hands. La. R.S. 37:2158(A)(23) bars a single company from doing both on the same property, and from owning a stake in both of the firms involved, so the assessment comes from an independent assessor and any removal from a different remediation contractor. Lake Charles Mold Experts does neither job itself.

Price ranges are estimates

Price ranges shown here, for instance on the mold removal and remediation cost page, are drawn from earlier jobs and meant for budgeting. A real quote for a property in Lake Charles can come in within a range, over it or under it, because of the scope, the access, the materials and market prices at the time the quote is written. The written scope that follows the visit to the property is the pricing document that counts.

Quotes and contracts

Asking for a quote sets up a visit to the property, after which you get a written scope and price. The agreement you sign for the work states what it covers, what it costs and any cover for faults found later. This website neither adds to that agreement nor takes its place.

Rules and regulations

Where a page mentions state or parish rules, permits or other regulations, it gives a short summary to help you get your bearings. Rules change, and the state or parish office in charge is the authority on them. Check the current requirements for your own job with the regulator that covers it.

No commitment to results

Nothing on this website commits to an outcome, a schedule, a credential, a cost or availability. How mold remediation turns out depends a great deal on things nobody on the job controls, such as whether the owner fixes the source of the moisture, how occupants use the building afterward and the condition of its structure. No remediation firm anywhere can rule out mold growing back.
